This is my personal site. I run it as Matt Cromwell, through Roots & Fruit UG (haftungsbeschränkt), in Germany. If you only read the essays, I don’t ask you for an account, and I don’t sell a list of readers.
The one place I do collect something on purpose is the newsletter. If you subscribe, you give me an email address, and sometimes a name if the form asks for one. I use that to send the letters and to see who opened them. The form is handled by MailerLite. They process that signup for me, and their own privacy policy covers what they do with it on their side. You can unsubscribe from any letter, and if you want the address deleted rather than just silenced, write to me and I will do that.
Comments are off. I don’t run a separate analytics product on this site. The host still keeps ordinary server logs, things like your IP address, browser, and which page you requested, because that is how a site stays up and how you spot abuse. Those logs are not a mailing list.
Some pages link out to Roots & Fruit, WP Product Talk, and other sites I mention. Once you leave here, that site has its own rules.
If you are in the EU or the UK, you can ask me what I have on you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. The usual path for a complaint is your local data protection authority. For me, that conversation starts with an email. Use the contact page and tell me what you want changed.
